We have one employee so far that has been nursing, so this has been a learning experience. We feel that allowing that employee to take time out to pump puts her in a relaxed yet focused headspace. It also means that we get to see her baby on occasion, which always brightens the office.
Obviously going back to work is a little difficult for working parents, but knowing that I can spend part of my workday doing something that will benefit my baby really motivates me. Truthfully, going back to work is financially necessary for me, so had I not been working for a company that was so accommodating, I would probably have had to give up on pumping. I’m very glad I’ve been able to continue pumping and nursing, though. I’ve been able to maintain that special bond with my daughter.
