Employer’s Perspective:

Baltimore County Public Library provides early learning experiences to support the development of young children. We are pleased to extend our philosophy on child care and development to our staff by providing nursing mothers the time and resources needed to continue breastfeeding after returning to work.

Employee’s Perspective:

Pumping has never been an issue for me at Woodlawn.  I was always offered a variety of private, secure spaces to pump in, including having the branch manager offer his office.  I am always able to pump when needed and this was done in addition to my lunch break.  I was also able to clean my equipment and store my breast milk in the refrigerator.  Basically, my pumping was a non-issue and was normalized, which I appreciate.

Visitor’s Perspective:

Great site. Uses several spaces, including empty office that has blinds over window areas, branch manager’s office (one window w/blind), public study room, which library added blinds over window areas to accommodate nursing women, large, multipurpose room. Lots of welcoming to breastfeeding moms in this environment
