KAI, provides a collaborative and supportive working environment for breastfeeding mothers. The organization promotes flexibility by offering part time working schedules and flexible work arrangements. Onsite private lactation rooms are available and offer mini-fridges for breastmilk storage, electrical outlets, comfortable chairs, and telephones.

In additional they support mothers by working on a collaborative project with the Office on Women’s Health, Department of Health & Human Services which maintains the National Breastfeeding Helpline and the womenshealth.gov website. KAI has staff that are breastfeeding specialists who respond to callers on the Breastfeeding Helpline providing comprehensive information on breastfeeding, including workplace solutions for employers, and It’s Only Natural an initiative on promoting African-American women to breastfeed.
