As a first time mom, I was really nervous about juggling work and the demands of being a new mom. From when I was pregnant, I found Save the Children to be really supportive. My team celebrated my pregnancy before I took maternity leave and showed their support when I came back. Just like every mother, I wasn’t sure how to navigate the demands of my schedule and pumping. My manager showed understanding and from the beginning, told me I was able to use the Mother’s Room whenever I needed it, even if it was in the middle of a meeting. She made sure zoom/Skype links were available so I could jump seamlessly from meetings to the Mother’s rooms.
